Working hours

The standard work week is capped at 45 hours with eight hours a day.

Maternity / Paternity Leave

Female employees receive 12 weeks of paid maternity leave.

Vacation Leave

Employees are entitled to 14 days of paid vacation leave per year.

Sick Leave

Employees receive up to seven days a year of sick leave.

Bonus Payments

There is no requirement in Sri Lanka for employers to provide bonuses.

Employment Termination Severance

The notice period is one month. Employers pay a gratuity upon dismissal and severance in some circumstances.
